I þouhte on þe Metelis / hou merveylous þei were.
Tyl sodynly hevynesse / on slepe brouht me þanne.
& in-to þe lond of longynge / a-loone she me brouhte.
& in a Myrrour þat is Midlerd / she made me in beholde.
& afterwarde she seide to me / here may þou se wondres.
& knowen þat þou coveytist / & come þerto paraunter.
¶ Concupiscencia carnis / was kallyd þe eldere mayde.
¶ Þanne priȝde of parfyȝt lyvynge / pursuede hem boþe.
& bad me for ony contynanse / a-counte clergye lyte.
¶ Concupiscencia carnis / collid me a-bowte þe nekke.
& seyde / þou art ȝit ȝong & ȝeep / & hast ȝeere y-nowe.
For to lyven longe on londeT / & loven ladyes manye.
& in þis Mirrour þou may see / merthis y-nowe.
